No Concrete Proof ...

Scientists in Sweden are reluctant to say that there's any proof that Global Warming (at least on the scale the popular culture believes) is even occurring, let alone that humans are somehow causing it.

And we think our taxes are high ...

Strike that. We know our taxes are high. But not as high as Sweden and Denmark. News today from The Local, Sweden's English-language newspaper, tells that Swede's have finally dropped out of first place in the "Highest Taxes in the World" list. Sweden seems to be proud that their tax burden averages only 47.8 percent! Think of that ... half your paycheck going to be mostly squandered by the government. It boggles the mind.

It just keeps getting better!

A couple of days ago, I posted about an article on the Swedish news website "The Local" about the amount of money Sweden is making from people being fined for peeing in public. Today, although the story has moved off the front page, there's still a link to it. And the caption?

"Public peeing -- a golden shower for state coffers."

There are days ...

There are days when the news reporters outdo themselves. From "The Local", Sweden's news in English:

"So far this year the Swedish state has earned 1.8 million kronor from people caught peeing in public. That's no piddling sum..."
